You might wonder if I painted a pufferfish purely for the matching emoji, but no…
Covered in deadly spikey old spines, yet as cute as a balloon, this card is perfect for saying ‘I love you’ but not going totally overboard on the gushy front.
After designing this card thinking “Oh aren’t pufferfish so sweet”, I found out that there’s enough toxin in a single pufferfish to kill 30 adult humans (this is probably very common knowledge) – so we’re going with a ‘cute but deadly’ card.
This one is a clear winner for Valentine’s & Galentine’s Day - I’ll definitely be sending these to my besties.
But this is also the one for sending little notes of love year-round – I’m going for when your sister needs a pick-me-up, your oldest friend needs a ‘you can do it’ reminder, or when a pal has been there for you and you need to say thank you (and that’s just for starters!)
As always, the illustration and lettering is all painted by me, by hand, using ink and watercolour on paper. I’ve tweaked the colours into a zingy combination of blue and lemon yellow on the computer, getting them ready to rock.
The cards are A6 size (148x105mm) and come with a crisp white envelope. They are proudly printed in the UK on really lovely 350GSM card – basically the perfect paper for getting out your best pens for writing your message. The inside is blank so there’s plenty of space!
The cards will be delivered wrapped in tissue and sent to you in packaging that is fully recyclable and / or biodegradable. Please make sure that you recycle – or better, re-use – the packaging so that we can help do our bit for the planet (and make sure the pufferfish are here to stay, even if they are quite dangerous)
‘Puffin Love You’ is one of four tropical fish cards and you can find the others in the shop if you’d like!
